BLOCKS
Music BLOCKS is a tangible user interface that creates a rhythmic sequence of eight different instrumental sounds through sensor-controlled blocks. Each block is accented with various patterns that allow the user to decipher each sound. The sounds are activated when the sensor-controlled block is placed on the board.
OBJECTIVE & GOAL
The objective was to build a tangible design system that could teach non-musicians the fundamentals of rhythm through pattern and improvisation. The overall goal was to create a tangible interactive module for basic rhythmic learning, giving individuals an opportunity to create, build, and have fun while learning about music.
